Bose is once again facing some solid competition from Sony with their new WH-XB900N Wireless Noise Canceling Extra Bass Headphones. Coming in at just $199 at Best Buy (at time of publication), that makes them half the price of the Bose 700.
The Sony 900Ns feature 40mm drivers that pack quite a punch on the bass end without sacrificing clarity, and the noise cancellation might actually be better that what Bose has to offer. I did not receive our test product in time to take them on a recent trip to China, but they’re great in the office, or at home plugged into the Nintendo Switch (with the included aux cable). These are charged with USB type-C, making it convenient for Switch owners, and boast “up to 30 hours of battery life.”
When you put your Switch down and head to the gym (or buy a 3rd party Bluetooth adapter and bring the Switch with you for the treadmill!) you’ll appreciate the outstanding Sony True Wireless WF1000XM3. These wireless noise cancelling earbuds blow Apple’s airpods out of the water, and add noise cancellation on top of their excellent sound quality.
The XM3s are the first wireless noise cancelling earbuds that have stayed in my ears throughout an entire workout, with no connectivity issues at all. Like the 900Ns these are also charged by USB type-C in the charging battery case. The case can fully charge the ear buds 3 times before running out of juice, and can even “quick charge” (10min charge -> 90min playback). These little guys are currently $229.99 at Best Buy and come in Black or Silver!
Andrew has been a nerd his whole life. He built his first computer when he was 8, started working in the IT industry at 15, and played competitive Counter-Strike at 16. His interest in amiibo started before their release but didn’t really take off until after the new year. He doesn’t like to admit it but Little Mac and WFT are among the amiibo that he had pre-ordered from Amazon but cancelled before their release. Little did he know a few months later he’d help start Amiibo Alerts. Gaming has always been his passion. He grew up with an NES, Sega Genesis, and PS2 before realizing that PCs truly are better than consoles.
The urge to be a little better, brought on by being a gamer, is what pushes him to help make Amiibo Alerts and Nintendeal amazing communities. Together with the team he has built, he is realizing a life-long dream: bringing something helpful and fun to a large group of people. Andrew’s role at Amiibo Alerts and Nintendeal as Founder and Editor in Chief allows him to create and build contacts within the community, review and present products, and stay on top of all things Nintendo.
