A Normal Lost Phone

A Normal Lost Phone is an immersive puzzle exploration game that starts with the discovery of an unknown person’s phone. Through the interface of the game’s smartphone, you have to search through every element of the phone in order to uncover the truth behind this unknown person’s life, and why they mysteriously disappeared on the even of their 18th birthday.

With such a story driven gameplay experience and a unique interface and premise behind the story, there is tremendous potential with A Normal Lost Phone. Where it suffers, however, is in the often sluggish pacing and all too tedious nature of sifting through a phone to gather every little clue and tiny detail. While purchasing the game does give you discounts on another title in the series (Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story), the game is not replayable at all since you need to basically discover everything on your first playthrough, ultimately making this game a bit of a dud.

Tesla vs Lovecraft

Tesla vs Lovecraft is a twin-stick shooter that pits the genius of Nikola Tesla against the brilliant fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. After being removed from a technological demonstration, writer H.P. Lovecraft summoned his horrifying creations to seek revenge on inventor Nikola Tesla by burning down his factory and stealing his inventions! As you try, as Tesla, to get your possessions back you’ll face wave after wave of increasingly powerful enemies. Your journey won’t end until every last one of them is destroyed.

With quite a few twin-stick shooters under their belts (Time Recoil, JYDGE, and Neon Chrome to name a few), 10tons most recent offering of the genre has taken everything great about the earlier games and combined them with near perfect use of the formula. While this game certainly has an incredibly weird premise, the polished gameplay, unique environments, and fast paced action will keep you thoroughly engaged as you mow down the onslaught of enemies coming your way.

Build a Bridge!

Build a Bridge! is a simulation puzzle game that has you, as the name suggests, build bridges for a variety of vehicles to travel across. The many different bridges you will builde take on a variety of shapes and sizes and are as customizable as your budget allows. The realistic physics engine adds to the challenge of making your bridge as structurally sound as possible, channeling your inner engineer throughout the entire process.

By being both a puzzle game and a realistic simulation game, Build a Bridge! challenged me as a player to always be thinking outside of the box as I created the platforms for my vehicles to traverse. The expansive options, slowly increasing difficulty and really cool perspective shift when testing your bridges are all things that make this game great. I wasn’t super keen on the controls, which lend themselves much more to a touchscreen rather than a cursor control, but if you can get over that this game is definitely one to check out.

Windjammers

Windjammers is an incredibly fast-paced arcade style sports game that sees you face off in head-to-head matches where you hurl discs at your opponents goal in order to score the most points. Play one of the five different game modes, including an online versus mode, with six different playable characters, each of which provides an opportunity for you to hone your own gaming style. Additionally, there are two unlockable mini-games for you to enjoy outside of the normal gameplay.

Never have I played a game quite like Windjammers. I’m a big fan of sports games, which is what drew me in right away, but this game is so much more. It seamlessly combines elements of pong, soccer, and a little bit of volleyball with the art style and intensity of Street Fight II. It’s really difficult to explain with great accuracy how awesome this game is because it’s so unique. Whether you play solo or with your friends, this game offers tons of replayability and a one-of-a-kind sporting experience.

Mom Hid My Game!

Mom Hid My Game! is an interactive puzzle game that sees you searching through a variety of different scenarios as you try to find your gaming console. As you play through each level, the environments and scenarios you explore grow increasingly wacky and outlandish, but if you interact in the incorrect order or explore a piece of the environment that isn’t relevant to your search, your mom may jump out, ending your search and forcing you to start over.

While I was initially skeptical of this game it quickly became one that was incredibly hard to put down. The puzzles and environments continue to grow more and more crazy as you move through the game, and there is this weird suspenseful feeling that sometimes happened to me when I wasn’t exactly sure if the move I made was the right one. Anyone who is a fan of puzzle games will certainly be able to find something you like in this title, especially for the low asking price.
