When the Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 ports for Switch were announced at The Game Awards 2017, Platinum Games gave no details regarding technical aspects of the ports. However, it looks like today we have some clarity on the topic: according to polish website FilmWeb, both games will look to hold a steady 720p resolution at 60FPS, in both docked and handheld mode.
Some people may clamor at the idea of a game running only at 720p, especially in the age of 4K gaming, but for a game like Bayonetta, featuring constant, high-octane action, a solid 60FPS should take priority. Platinum Games must know this as well, as they are the one’s handling the ports. They, above anyone else, would know the best way to present the games.
Both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are available now to pre-order, and will be released on February 16, 2018. No details yet are known about Bayonetta 3, but as soon as anything drops we’ll let you know. In the meantime, check out the release trailer below.
