Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura has suggested that the third installment, Kingdom Hearts 3, could see a Nintendo Switch release, according to an interview with Japanese publication Famitsu.
This interview took place a little over a year ago now, but the fact that Switch functionality was thought about suggests that we still might see it happen. From the interview, it seems like Kingdom Hearts 3 was always planned for just PS4 and Xbox One, while other hardware played second fiddle.
Of course, Kingdom Hearts 3 has well-documented performance bugs on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, which could make it harder to develop the game over. This was surprising, as the game’s develop has spanned a period of 10-years.
As fans, would you like to see Kingdom Hearts 3 on Switch? Would you be okay with graphical problems, or scaling back the entire game? Let us know in the comments below.
