Get ready to fight, pillage, and plunder your way through hell in Diablo III: Eternal Collection, coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. The ever-popular dungeon crawler was confirmed, after rumors emerged earlier this week, by Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment earlier today.
The original Diablo III was released all the way back in 2012 on PC. The software broke numerous records, and received critical acclaim. Then, the game was launched on consoles in both 2013 and 2014. No Nintendo console could run the title back when it was ported, and thus fans using a Wii or Wii U were left in the dark. It might’ve taken an additional four years, but Diablo III will finally be playable on a Nintendo device, and anywhere at that.
For the Nintendo Switch version, players will have access to all of the following:

- The Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions, which provide numerous enhancements to the gameplay
- All 7 classes
- 5 full story acts
- Exclusive Switch content, including Zelda-themed items like having a Cucco companion pet and Ganondorf armor
- 4-player local coop, via shared screens, online play, or docked and undocked Switch consoles together
- Joy-con and Pro Controller support
No exact date has been announced yet, but when the gates of hell open up we’ll be sure to let you know. Also, for those interested, the software will run at 60fps docked at 960p, while handheld will see the resolution drop to 720p.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection is available to pre-order now.
